Ingredients

Ground beef or turkey: Use lean meat for a healthier option

Shredded cheddar or mozzarella: Try gouda or pepper jack for a different flavor

Breadcrumbs or almond flour: For gluten-free or low-carb alternatives

Egg: Helps bind the mixture together

Onion, finely chopped: Adds sweetness and depth

Garlic, minced: Enhances flavor and aroma

Salt: To taste

Black pepper: Adjust according to preference

Worcestershire sauce: Adds umami richness

Italian seasoning or fresh parsley: For herbaceous notes

Ketchup or BBQ sauce: Optional, for a caramelized glaze on top

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat and Prepare

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a mini muffin tin for even cooking.

Step 2: Mix Ingredients

Combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix gently until evenly incorporated.

Step 3: Shape and Stuff

Flatten a portion of the meat mixture, place a cube of cheese in the center, fold the meat around it, and shape into a ball. Repeat for all portions.

Step 4: Bake

Bake for 25–30 minutes until fully cooked and golden brown. Optionally, brush tops with ketchup or BBQ sauce.

Step 5: Cool and Serve

Let cool a few minutes before serving. Pair with dipping sauces like ranch, honey mustard, or marinara.

Notes

  • Use sharp cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite melting cheese for the filling.

  • For extra flavor, mix finely chopped onions, garlic, and herbs into the meat mixture.

  • Chilling the meat mixture before shaping helps the bites hold together during baking.

  • Serve with ketchup, barbecue sauce, or a creamy dip for added flavor.

  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 1 month.

  • Reheat in the oven or air fryer to maintain a crispy exterior.

  • Perfect for meal prep, potlucks, or party appetizers.
