A buttery graham cracker crust is layered with creamy cheesecake, topped with tender cinnamon-spiced apples, and finished with a sweet caramel drizzle. Perfect for holidays, family gatherings, or whenever you crave a cozy and indulgent dessert.
Ingredients
• 3 ripe bananas – The riper, the sweeter and more flavorful.
• 1/3 cup melted butter – For richness and softness; can substitute with coconut oil for a dairy-free option.
• 3/4 cup sugar – Brown sugar adds deeper caramel notes; you can reduce to 1/2 cup for a lighter sweetness.
• 1 large egg – At room temperature for better incorporation; flaxseed meal can be used as a vegan substitute.
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract – Enhances natural banana flavor.
• 1 teaspoon baking soda – Ensures proper rise and fluffiness.
• Pinch of salt – Balances sweetness.
• 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour – Can substitute with whole wheat flour for a healthier twist.
• Optional add-ins: Chocolate chips, walnuts, pecans, or a sprinkle of cinnamon for extra warmth.
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter or line it with parchment paper to ensure easy release.
In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth. Small lumps are fine—they add texture and flavor.
Add melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas. Mix until fully combined. Tip: Use a whisk for a lighter texture.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually fold into the wet mixture, careful not to overmix. Overmixing can make your bread dense.
Fold in chocolate chips, nuts, or spices if desired. These extras add layers of flavor and texture.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake for 55–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Slice and enjoy warm, or store for later.
